What does the Motorhome include?

· Kitchen pack – pots, frying pan, utensils, cheese grater, colander, bottle open/corkscrew, potato peeler

· Dining pack – plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, cutlery

· Camping pack – camping table and chairs, levelling ramps, electric hook up cable, freshwater hose

· Sanitary pack – toilet sachets, toilet rolls

· Full tank of fuel

· Gas cylinder

Is bedding included?

We do not currently offer bedding due to COVID restrictions.

Who can drive the Motorhome?

Our insurance covers drivers between 23 – 70 years of age who have held a full valid license for more than 2 years. However, we may be able to accept older drivers, please contact us for more details. You can have up to 2 drivers per motorhome. No additional costs apply for each additional driver. All drivers must be present when collecting the Motorhome.

Can I drive with penalty points on my license?

· You must meet the specified age limits within your policy and have at least 2 years driving experience (Full UK, EU Licence types)

· Two, 3-point convictions are acceptable (i.e. 2x Sp30’s, 3pts each) without referral. Single convictions totalling 6 points+ will require referral unless otherwise specified below

· No more than 1 fault or outstanding accident/claim/incident in the last 3 years

For more than 2 sets of points or for any points that are not coded SP’s please contact us for clarification. We may not be able to arrange cover for convictions with the following codes: AC, BA, CD, DD, DR, MS, TT, UT and IN. Please contact us for clarification.

What is the cost of the security/damage deposit?

An insurance security deposit of £1250 is payable prior to collection of the Motorhome by Credit card, Cash, Bank transfer or cleared cheque. This deposit is held against any and all damage to the motorhome.

The security deposit refund will be authorised within 14 days after the end of the hire period, provided the motorhome is returned to us in a satisfactory condition and at the location and date and time agreed. Satisfactory condition includes clean, undamaged, with all tools, accessories and equipment in the same condition as when collected and having been operated in a reasonable manner (see ‘Motorhome Use’).

Is there a minimum hire period?

We have a minimum hire period of 3 nights off season and 7 nights peak season. However, sometimes we have gaps in our booking diary and will accept certain nights subject to availability.

Are there specific collection days?

We are happy to accept any day of the week for collection and returns provided it fits in with our booking diary.

What time can do we collect/return the motorhome?

Pick up is 3.00pm and return is 10.30am. Earlier pick up and later return may be possible, subject to availability. An additional charge will apply.

What age are your motorhomes?

All our motorhomes are a maximum of 48 months old; we replace our fleet every other season if not sooner (30,000 miles).

What do I need to bring when collecting my motorhome?

All drivers must be present at time of collection and produce a photo driving licence plus secondary photographic identification in the form of a passport.

On collection, please remember to bring the driving licence of the driver and 2nd proof of address.

Primary and secondary proof of address documents that are acceptable are;

Both must be dated within 90 days of the hire date. The address & name on your licence must match both documents.

You must also provide us with a licence check code and your licence number so we can check this with the DVLA. View or share your driving licence information – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Please note, we cannot release the Motorhome to you without this.

Visitors from abroad must produce a valid unendorsed domestic driving licence or international driving licence as well as a passport.

In addition to the driver’s licence requirements, one other form of identity, such as a utility bill or a bank building society statement dated within the last three months, is required.

How do I make a booking? Bookings can be made through our online booking system, over the phone or by email.

To confirm a booking, we require a non-refundable £250.00 booking deposit.

All funds must be cleared before the time of hire, otherwise this could result in loss of deposit and cancellation of hire.

Can I take my motorhome on a ferry?

Yes, our motorhomes can be taken on all Scottish & N Ireland Ferries. The Ferry Company will usually ask for the registration number, length, height and width of the vehicle.

Can I take the motorhome to Southern Ireland?

Yes, although additional cover will be needed. The cost of this is currently £10.00 per day.

Can I take the motorhome to the continent?

No, unfortunately not.

Can I take a pet?

You may have spotted we like a pet and have Erin the collie as a member of #TeamHaggis. So yes, you can, although we do charge a one-off cleaning fee of £35. This is for the comfort of our next guests who may have allergies.

Where can I leave my car when we are away in a motorhome?

You can leave your car in the secure carpark on-site, at no extra charge. However, please bear in mind that this is at your own risk.

What are the average miles per gallon?

All our Motorhomes will average around 26-30 mpg depending on model, and around 350 to 500 miles on a tank of fuel.

Are there sockets for me to charge my phone etc?

USB ports in the cab area, and in the habitation area.

240 Volt mains power points in the bedroom and Habitation areas. Please note these will only work when you are hooked up to mains power, as the motorhome can’t generate mains electric.

12 v power sockets (Cigarette type) in the cab area and habitation areas.

What do we need to do on returning the motorhome?

All Motorhomes must be cleaned unpacked and ready to hand over to us by 10:30 am at Port Edgar (unless agreed otherwise)

Motorhome must be returned with a full tank of diesel.

All Motorhomes must be returned with an empty toilet cassette and grey water tank.

Motorhomes are also expected to be returned in a clean and tidy condition, all floors cleaned, food and rubbish removed, bathroom cleaned, tidied & surfaces wiped down.

Additional fees may apply, if the above are not complied with. Please see the T&C’s for further information.

The following additional charges are payable if appropriate.

We would respectfully remind all customers that Haggis Motorhomes reserve the right to charge additional fees if the motorhome is not returned after a hire on time and in a good and clean condition. In order to remove any confusion, below is a list of extra charges which we may levy if additional work is required to make the vehicle ready for the next hire.

Late returns of our vehicles can cause a serious knock-on effect for our customers who are collecting the vehicle next. For this reason, we must insist that you plan your return journey so that you are back at the agreed time (factoring in any time needed for you to unpack and clean the vehicle before the return handover). Any late returns without verifiable evidence of delays which were beyond our control will be charged as per the rate below.

Late return fee (charged per hour or part thereof) £100 p/h

Toilet tank not emptied – £75

Grey water tank not emptied – £50

Interior not clean – £100

Admin fee for dealing with any penalty notices – £25 p/h

Diesel tank not full on return: A surcharge of £50.00 will be applied, in addition to the fuel cost.

Evidence of smoking £300

External / internal damage must be reported at the time, so we can order parts or work out a solution to the issue for the next hire.

What payment methods do you take?

All payments must be made by Credit or Debit Card only. We unfortunately cannot accept payment by bank transfer, cheque or cash. This s due to insurance restrictions and is out with our control.
